Jackson's Baptism

Today, Jackson was baptized. It was a great weekend all around. Mimi and Pop, Auntie Meggie, Uncle Josh, and Ellie came up yesterday and made a weekend out of it. We got fall decorations to make the house look festive, and Mimi brought some mums too.

We all were dressed in our finest for church, with Jackson in his gown. Grammi bought Jackson a beautiful white gown, that he decided to spit-up on a few times.

There were 6 other babies being baptized, so it wasn't a quick process. However, Jackson was GREAT!! He didn't fuss, and even slept on Mimi during the service. Emma cried a little bit, saying she wanted to go home, but Mimi took her to the back of the church and she was fine.

Father John gave a wonderful mass, and even better baptism ceremony. He commented on how his middle name is Jackson, so Jackson has a great name:)

Everyone came over to the house after the service, and Mimi, Grammi, and Aunt Laurie made a wonderful spread of food. We had to get Jackson's cake made a few times, as it wasn't made to my standards the first time.

We LOVE it when everyone comes over. Emma loves her cousin Ellie, they are best friends, and all the kids love their Mimi and Pop!!

P.S. Check out Ellie's smile.

My Big Boy

I always call Jackson my "biggie boy," and my dear Emma calls him that too.

Here is some proof of how big he is getting...

He is feeding himself...

Sitting up...

Also, tell me this, do you think they look alike?

Funny things

There are always funny things (and sassy) things Emma is saying.

For example:

1) "Mom, stop feeding Jackson and get me a drinky drink now."
2) At 5:00, when Jackson woke up from his nap, Emma greeted him with, "Good morning Big Boy, good morning big boy, good morning big boy"...on and on and on. While she was clapping her hands.
3) "Hi Little Tommy." This was said to Jackson this morning.
4)Another morning she greeted her brother with, "Good morning Jackson, did you have a good sleepy-sleep?"
5) Me, Emma, you're my baby. Emma, "No, I Emma Miff."

Hurry, hurry, hurry

When we got home from work and Grammi's house, I told Emma that I would take her and Jackson to Patches Creamery after dinner. She LOVES feeding the goats, and I thought it would be a nice end to the day...since she isn't feeling the greatest, and Jackson is getting over his double ear infection. (Which, the child care providers at Grammi's house raved over how wonderful he was, and how they never would have been able to tell he wasn't feeling well.)

I got dinner ready, while Tommy was at the Dr for his strep throat. The entire time I was hoping he would be home soon. Jackson wasn't happy in his bouncer (he was tired) and Em just wanted me to hold her.

I no sooner get dinner on the table (5:30), then I call Patches to see what time they close. Just my luck...6:00. I quick got Em out of her seat, and told her to hurry, hurry, hurry...we needed to make it to Patches in time to get some goat food.

She was a trooper, and Jacks did not put up a fight to get into his seat. In a matter of minutes, we were off.

We got to Patches just in time to get some ice cream, and a bag of food. As soon as Em stepped up to the fence, the goats came running.

The best part of it all, were these girls...

Emma LOVES feeding the goats.

Even more, she loved petting the ponies.

On our way home, I said she had two choices, getting a tubbie or finishing her dinner...she chose, going to Mimi and Pop's house...go figure:)

My sick boy

Jackson was not himself yesterday, and last night he struggled with sleeping. I thought it was just a cold, until I realized he had a fever too. This was the first time Jackson has had a fever, so I immediately called the Dr this morning to get him in.

When he went in, they weighed him, and he actually lost over a half a pound since last week...he is now 17 pounds 11 ounces. They also took his temperature, and that was 101.1. He was one sick little boy.

The Dr came in to look at him and he was all smiles. Even though he didn't feel well, you would not have been able to tell. He was still smiling, and eating like his normal self.

Sure enough, after some poking and prodding, Jackson was diagnosed with a double ear infection and an upper respiratory infection. My little baby is one sick boy.

However, is this the picture of a sick baby?

First Friday Football Game

Tonight was the first Falcon football game for Jackson. Emma went to plenty of games last year and the year before. We are daddy's biggest fans, and wouldn't miss the opportunity to cheer the team on...

and help daddy film. As you can tell, Emma was a big help to daddy.

Mimi got Jackson his football outfit knowing that one day he is going to follow in his daddy's and Uncle Toddy's footsteps. Not to mention, if daddy has anything to do with it, he will LOVE football...playing, watching, and participating in fantasy leagues.

Jackson just hung out and watched the game, and listened to the game happening behind him.

For once, we were able to get a mommy, Emma, and Jackson picture.

Emma and Jackson had a great time cheering on the Falcons at our first Friday football game!

Emma had a great time dancing to the bands playing, while cheering with the cheerleaders.

Jackson Update

I took Jackson to the Dr today to get his shots that he missed at his 4 month check-up. For curiosity sake, I asked the nurse to measure and weigh him. I insist that he is "thinning out" but no one seems to agree.

Well, he grew almost 1.5 inches in 1 month, and gained 2 pounds...he is a growing boy. Dr. Schaffer said he is such a social baby, and the nurses go crazy over him. He got 2 shots, and only cried for a few seconds.

When we came home, Em was eating dinner. She was so excited to see Jackson. She was so concerned over his shots, but said she wanted one too.

Our days are busy, but we wouldn't want it any other way!!!
